Main Collaborators
Professor Mark Blaxter at the University of Edinburgh
We have been working with Mark and since 2004, and more formally since the initiation of the BBSRC grant "Unwinding snail chirality" on which Mark is a co-investigator and Dr John Davey is the PDRA. Except for being a general molecular biology guru, Mark's involvement is mainly concerned with the next generation DNA sequencing and the bioinformatics.
Professor Satoshi Chiba at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan
The collaboration with Satoshi Chiba began in 2001 when I enjoyed a two year Royal Society/JSPS fellowship in Sendai, Japan. Since then we have produced a string of papers and continue to work together to this day, especially on the speciation of Euhadra and Mandarina snails. In the near future, we are looking forward to receiving genomic sequences from Euhadra, with a view to understanding the role of chirality in their speciation.
Dr Fengtang Yang at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute
We have recently begun work with Fengtang Yang and a SRA in the cytogenetics group, Dr. Ruby Banerjee.
Further collaborations to be updated in the next few weeks
